We are looking for an experienced Public Relations Manager to facilitate the integrated media relations strategy for our Canadian, female-led tech start-up, the PrettyBird app. Download on iOS or Android!

Our PR Manager will work alongside the brand+buzz team to coordinate all PR activities to reach our target news outlets, influencers and media platforms. This team member will cultivate new relationships within business and industry media. Your communication style must be impactful and unforgettable! We’re looking for someone with remote work experience, a creative and out-of-the-box thinker who is self-motivated and can work at a frenzy pace in a startup environment (we don’t like to micromanage!)

Responsibilities include:

Drafting and communicating brand messagesManaging media inquiries and interview requestsCreating content for press releases, byline articles and keynote presentationsMonitoring, analyzing, and reporting PR results to the executive teamEvaluating opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertisingBuilding relationships with thought leaders to grow industry awarenessMaintaining a keen understanding of industry trends affecting clients and service providers, and making appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding themWhile working within our existing team, your ability to fly solo when required is a must

Qualifications:

Post secondary degree (BSc or similar) in Marketing, Design, Business, Communications, Public Relations, New Media or related fieldsProven track record designing and executing successful public relations campaigns at both a local and national levelOut-of-this-world conceptualizing, consulting, copywriting, communications skillsPassion for the start-up ecosystem, ideally with patience, insight, and ability to offer actionable insights and feedback directly to the Founders.

This is a 6-month, part-time contract with full-time work available upon successful completion.
